When I went on holidays to Lithuania with my future husband, I didn’t think that it was possible to spend an excellent beach vacation in this wonderful country. I went to the Baltic seaside, to be exact, to the Curonean Spit in Neringa. I should admit that I fell in love with the place as soon as I saw it. There are many good hotels in Lithuania but hotels of Neringa are special. They are usually not higher than 2 or 3 stores and they are very cosy. Everyday we were given homemade food, so we didn’t have to worry about breakfast, dinner or supper. We were very lucky with weather there, as it was a bit higher that 25 degrees, so it was perfect weather for getting suntanned. The only thing I felt sorry for was that it was a bit cold to swim in the sea as the water was too cold for swimming. In the evenings we usually went to local cafes and restaurants where we enjoyed delicious Lithuanian cuisine. I can’t say that it was very much different from the cuisine of my country but all the same it had its own charm. To put it all in a nutshell, I want to say that my vacation in Lithuania was like a rehearsal of my honeymoon trip.
