Not so long ago I have been surfing on the internet pages in search where I could spend my next vacation and I found a very interesting info about Czech Republic. I have never thought this small post-communist country has so many mineral springs. It appeared that Czech Republic has been the European centre of spa treatment form many centuries. Among all the centres that offer spa treatment I decided to go to Františkovy. As I have read about it on the internet, the place is small and homelike. I hope it won’t be overcrowded like many other popular resorts. Besides, not far from Františkovy a beautiful forest is located, so when I have spare time, I will go there for walks and breathe fresh air. In Františkovy I am planning to rent an apartment. I can’t stand hotel service and then, as far as I know, it is often cheaper to rent an apartment or a cottage than a room in a hotel. According to the information I have read on the internet my vacation in Czech Republic will be relaxing and wholesome for my health. In any case, we’ll see it;-)))
Planning My Czech Vacation
August 9, 2008 by paolatripsRest in Lithuania
July 12, 2008 by paolatripsWhen I went on holidays to Lithuania with my future husband, I didn’t think that it was possible to spend an excellent beach vacation in this wonderful country. I went to the Baltic seaside, to be exact, to the Curonean Spit in Neringa. I should admit that I fell in love with the place as soon as I saw it. There are many good hotels in Lithuania but hotels of Neringa are special. They are usually not higher than 2 or 3 stores and they are very cosy. Everyday we were given homemade food, so we didn’t have to worry about breakfast, dinner or supper. We were very lucky with weather there, as it was a bit higher that 25 degrees, so it was perfect weather for getting suntanned. The only thing I felt sorry for was that it was a bit cold to swim in the sea as the water was too cold for swimming. In the evenings we usually went to local cafes and restaurants where we enjoyed delicious Lithuanian cuisine. I can’t say that it was very much different from the cuisine of my country but all the same it had its own charm. To put it all in a nutshell, I want to say that my vacation in Lithuania was like a rehearsal of my honeymoon trip.
Spend Vacations in Liguria
June 29, 2008 by paolatripsHave you ever been on holidays in Liguria? I did and I was really satisfied with everything I saw there. First of all, I was impressed with the Ligurian nature. I have never seen such a beauty before. The green slopes where they grow excellent grape from which they make the prominent Ligurian wine. Have you ever tasted the white Vermentino or Cinqueterre, pink Barbarossa Ligure or red Rossese Dolceacqua? I did. I liked wine but Rossese Dolceacqua wan my heart. The only thing I feel sorry for is that it is almost impossible to find the Ligurian wine in any other country of the world. As the Ligurians say, it is very difficult to cultivate and then gather grapes on the steep slopes of the Ligurian Alps. Besides, Liguria is a very popular resort region in Italy that’s why it is very easy to find an apartment or a nice cottage at the seaside. As for me, I prefer hotel service soI stayed at Astoria West End 4* hotel. The hotel is built in the neo-classical style and combines both antique and modern styles in one building. It is very cozy there so I felt as if I were home.
Vacation in Caorle, Venice
June 2, 2008 by paolatripsI have never thought I would like my vacation in Venice, wonderful Italian province. Why wonderful?-you will ask me. Well, I’ll tell that there is very beautiful nature there. The mountains with their vineyards really offer an unforgettable view. Besides, in Venice they make very delicious wine. I was really lucky to visit Wine Festival in Caorle. It was really an unforgettable event. I have never tasted such a delicious wine. But it is not all. In Caorle there is a really wonderful beach. The water in the sea was pure and warm, so I spent much time in it. As I am shopping-addict, Caorle was a real paradise for me. There are many various shops in the city, so I bought a lot of interesting stuffs there, including presents for my family. When I came back home, I understood that I bought a lot of things that I didn’t need at all. I also did many sights in Caorle. I especially liked St Stephen Church that was built in 1038. Even at that time people were able to create such a beauty. On the whole, I will never forget my trip to Venice and I will sure come here again.
Seaside Vacation
May 1, 2008 by paolatripsI will never forget my first trip to the seaside. I was only 5 years old but it it the best thing I can remember about my childhood. My parents and I went on a trip to the Mediterranean Sea. We rented a nice cottage that was situated not far from the local beach. We went twice a day a rule: in the morning and in the evening. You know, it was really convenient because we were completely independent from the meal times of the hotel. Besides, we were our own bosses and did whatever we wished during those 2 weeks we spend there. In the daytime my mother liked to drink coffee on the terrace and my father usually read a book. As for me, I played with my toys not near my mom. Besides, my parents made friends with our neighbors, so they often visited us in our cottage. They also had a child, a son, who I often played with. On the whole, our vacation there was really excellent and we all liked our rest there.
Skiing in the USA
February 17, 2008 by paolatripsSki holiday in America – Ski resorts in North America tend to be private enterprises and many of today’s greatest resorts have been built over decades from nothing to multi-million dollar businesses. Some, like Stowe or Sun Valley, have been famous for almost as long as skiing has been a recreational sport, while others like Sunday River or Deer Valley, have shot to fame within the past decade or so. There are over 500 ski centres with fantascitc vacation rentals, rivalling Austria and Japan, and the USA has the second largest number of chair lifts in the world (surpassed only by Japan). The best known resorts are either on the East or West Coasts, with a few large centres offering small verticals in the Midwest. Many warm states, such as Tennessee, also have a resort and even Hawaii has skiing facilities. The East Coast resorts are generally at low altitudes with most of their runs floodlit for night skiing. They are often covered by snowmaking equipment, which, as ttechnology improves, creates snow at increasingly warmer temperatures during seasons for ski travelling which reach back to early October and, in some centres, extend to June. On the West coast, the mountains are high and some ski centres are becoming increasingly affluent, growing like fantasy lands on desolate mountain landscapes. The skiing and facilities available at resorts like Aspen are truly staggering. Most remarkable of all are the huge falls of light, dry powder snow which fall annually, almost without fail. The emphasis in virtually all North American ski centres is on quality and service, regardless of their individual distinguishing features for a fantastic ski vacation. This attitude predominates in all aspects of skiing-friendly and attentive staff, comfortable and fast lifts ascending from points to which you can ski (rather than have to climb an incline to reach) and leading to runs which have been immaculately groomed so that you don’t have to worry about hitting any obstacle.
